Great show.
Just wanted to mention that I did the Zion 100 (which you mentioned). It was an amazing course, but it really did a number on my feet. Funny enough, it prompted me to buy some more cushioned shoes for the later stages of my long races so I did buy some Altra Olympus shoes. I took them for a short trail run this morning and they felt very nice. I can see how they will be super comfy when I need it most.
Congrats on Zion. It must be an awesome place to run. The Olympus definitely have some nice cushioning, hope they work out for you.
The guy doing the Sheffield announcements had nothing to do with the organisation of the race. He's a local club chairman who volunteers his time to purely compère the race, doing an excellent job every year. This year for some reason the organising committee fled when the water fiasco hit and he was left to clean up the mess. Unfortunate for him but he did a great job embracing the spirit of the runners. He had to be careful not to endorse it too much.
Thanks for the info Tom. I give him lots of credit for stepping up to the microphone in a difficult situation.
